Daddy Cool happens to be rare in only one aspect. It happens to be the official remake of Death at a Funeral, a British film, with bought rights.
The film moves around a death and all the characters are dressed in black suits or dresses. We have all firangi names like Carlos, Michael, Steven and Nancy. Even you get a hitch with Rajpal Yadav’s name in the film is Andrew Symonds.
Producers Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria try to give their best by believing in a British black comedy but it doesn’t work in Indian context. It spoils the taste.
Well, this week we don’t have many options, so it can go ok for once to the theatre.
