Vikram Bhatt says he is in shock to see the iconic Taj Mahal Palace damaged badly after 60 hours of attacks. And now the director says he hopes to raise funds to restore the hotel back to its original glamour.
“It’s true that I have come forward to re-build the Taj as I’m still in shock to have seen the Taj in flames. I have not yet spoken with any NGOs as it’s my personal move. I just want that all Mumbaikars to come forward and so it’s my humble request to all of them to just spend one rupee from their pocket so that the required funds can be raised. If any Mumbaikar wants to help then they should either contact at my office,” says the director passionately.
Has anyone from the film fraternity come forward?
”No I really don’t want to compel anyone as it’s my personal initiative. Such things should come from your own inner voice and I really don’t want any government help also. I haven’t yet spoken with Mr. Ratan Tata also about it but I know he won’t stop me from doing this,” he says.
Mr. Bhatt is really upset with all the government bodies who neglected the warnings of attack. He says,”The government had got news from the intelligence about the attack and now resigning of the ministers won’t bring back the lives that have been lost. Vilasrao is still resigning and I won’t participate in today’s rally at Gateway of India because it’s of no use now as they have done the destruction and left!”
