Growing beyond his mere hobby for the guitar playing, Saif Ali Khan intends to learn the instrument seriously and play more gigs with other bands.
During his performance at a rock concert in Mumbai last Friday, Saif had an unpleasant reality check when the fingers of his left hand were cut while he was playing the guitar onstage. This happens when a person doesn’t practice regularly on the instrument and his fingertips are not calloused or hardened enough to withstand the pressure of playing the chords or notes on the fret-board.
Saif now intends to take his guitar playing more seriously. He says playing rock music is a very good way of unwinding for him and he has spoken to other rock musicians to be part of gigs and live performances as often as possible.
Not only is the actor determined to practice on the guitar more rigorously, he is also set to play a rocker in director Imtiaz Ali ’s film ‘Rock Star’.
Imtiaz is presently directing Saif’s first home production and has reportedly asked Saif to play the lead role in ‘Rock Star’ as well.
However, Saif is not sure if he is equipped enough to play a rockstar.
