The makers of ‘Dasvidaniya’ have decided to shift the release of the film from November 7 to November 14. Riaz Hyder, Project Chief of One More Thought Entertainment P. Ltd. explains, “We took this decision the day ‘Golmaal Returns’ and ‘Fashion’ released. With the kind of strong opening the two films fetched, we knew that the respective distributors wouldn’t be ready to let go of multiplexes next week. Also, there’s ‘EMI’ and also ‘Quantum Of Solace’ coming up next. So why ruin the prospects of Dasvidaniya?”.
He adds, “By then a lot of theatres would be free; the only opposition would be Dostana. Hence, November 14 is a more appropriate date.”
Dasvidaniya is bittersweet situational comedy about a man Amar Kaul (Vinay Pathak), whose existence is easily forgotten among the millions of people in the pool of Mumbai’s ever-increasing population. Shy and quiet Amar lived a mundane routine and simple life.
Things take a turn when a doctor tells him that he will die within 3 months. And then Amar sets out to write his final list of to-do things- The List of 10 things to do before he dies, the List that would make his life worthy, before it actually ends. As the countdown begins, does Amar Kaul succeed in fulfilling the final tasks to do on his wish list … and in the course of doing them, realized than he has been dead all along until now.
