Karan Johar says there is nothing offensive about his new production Dostana which has been directed by Tarun Mansukhani .
The movie has kicked up a lot of curiosity with its numerous gay jokes and its oomph quotient, courtesy John Abraham , Priyanka Chopra or Shilpa Shetty . It is being feared that the film may end up offending the gay community. But Karan Johar allays such fears.
“We’ve made sure not to offend any group or community. I’d never make a film that would offend anybody. ’Dostana’ has a great look and it’s a clean happy watch. It’s fun and new," Karan is quoted by a news agency.
The movie has John and Abhishek Bachchan pretending as gays to be able to rent an apartment where a sexy girl lives. Things get complicated when they fall for her but she thinks they are gays.
“The chemistry among Abhishek, John and Priyanka is fantastic,” says Karan.
Karan also added that this is not the first time he has used gay jokes in his film.
“As for the gay jokes, I think it’s time for everyone to wake up to reality. I had gay jokes in Kal Ho Na Ho and no one was offended," Karan stressed.
‘Dostana’ has hit the theatres today.
