"'Har Pall' is a love story but there is a bigger human aspect to it," said Barua.
"The filming began on August 1 and we'll shoot in Mumbai, Kolkata and Shillong," Barua told newspersons from Mumbai.
The film, which also stars Ishaa Koppikar and Lillette Dubey, is being produced by Tony Juneja and features music by Pritam.
Barua said he was keen on pairing Bachchan with Dimple Kapadia. "But Dimple opted out due to some family problems and Lillette Dubey replaced her," he said.
Bachchan plays the role of Zinta's father in 'Har Pall'.
"Amitabh Bachchan's character has a sub-plot in Kolkata for which shooting will be done there. A majority of the shooting will be in Mumbai," Barua said.
Another Hindi venture of his 'Butterfly Chase', which stars Yashpal Sharma and Gauri Karnik, is awaiting release.
"There are some formalities left with the producers of 'Butterfly Chase' and I hope they would be sorted out soon." The filmmaker, who hails from Assam, said his aim is to reach out to a larger audience. "It's an honour when people across the world appreciate your work." (Agencies)
