Mo`Nique won the best supporting actress Oscar on Sunday for her role as an abusive mother in ‘Precious,’ claiming her first ever Academy Award.
Mo`Nique was widely seen as the front-runner for the award for her harrowing role in ‘Precious: Based on the Novel `Push` by Sapphire.’
She was previously known mostly for her stand-up comedy and for roles on television.
