The veteran actor who is best known for his acts in films like ARDHSATYA and JAANE BHI DO YAARON is aghast at the way comedy is presented on small screen these days.
Talking on the sidelines of his upcoming release BAABARR in which he plays the role of a corrupt cop, the actor says, ’’I am deeply dejected the way comedy is being presented on the small screen these days. There was a time when comedy used to have its subtleties, but now it has become too loud and meaningless. If you look at my film JAANE BHI DO YAARON, it too had a humorous element but in a very dignified way. I get really hurt when I see the levels to which the comedy has stooped.’’
Throwing more light on his upcoming role in the film BAABARR, the actor adds, ’’I play the role of a corrupt cop who can put his conscience for sale. Though the film deals with a sensitive subject, I’m glad it carries a social message unlike the trend of today’s films.’’
BAABARR takes a critical look at the criminal world and is directed by Ashuu Trikha. The film also stars Urvashi Sharma, Mithun Chakraborty and Sushant Singh.
