Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma was seen touring the Taj Mahal Hotel with CM Vilasrao Deshmukh and his actor son Riteish Deshmukh on Sunday evening. The sight of the two Bollywood celebs in the hotel has angered Indians all over the world. But what made RGV go inside is the big question? And how was he allowed to go before the owners of shops in the Taj and Oberoi were?
The grapevine says that the title of the film he plans to make is Taj pe Gaaj. It is also being suggested that Riteish Deshmukh who is playing a journalist in RGV’s forthcoming film Rann which is based on the media had probably gone in to take some inspiration.
After numerous smses and calls, RGV finally replied saying he had been misunderstood.
“I am not making a film on this incident. I was with Riteish before I came here and then he asked me to come along with him. I don’t even know Vilasrao Deshmukh. All I am saying about this is that I am not making a film on this topic,” says the director.
This visit of the director has sparked outrage in the heart of the people in the city. Many survivors and relatives are not allowed inside but RGV went as part of the CM’s entourage. RGV is good friends with Riteish who has been part of his movies like Darna Zaroori Hai, Mr. Ya Miss and Naach. He is also playing a journalist and has a very important role in Ramu’s forthcoming media drama Rann.
On a TV show, actress Ratna Pathak and journalist Bachi Karkaria expressed their outrage and disgust saying that how can the CM trivialize the issue by taking a film director who is not connected in any way to what has happened around and sell a terror tourism package?
