How a typically Indian beauty with big eyes and sharp facial features turned into a Chinese damsel was somewhat a mystery till now.
Deepika Padukone is playing a Chinese girl in the movie Chandni Chowk To China Now what’s interesting is to note how she got that look.
For Deepika, a South Indian girl, donning a Chinese look wasn’t easy. Director Nikhil Advani got some makeup experts to give Deepika’s eyes that Chinese slant look, that is sharpened at the edge. And they suggested sticking tapes around Deepika’s eyes, the very idea of which scared the actress.
Even her doctor suggested otherwise. With this idea abandoned, then came on the scene the makeup artist Mallika Bhatt. Mallika used her skills and came up with an idea that involved the use of eyeliner. Eyeliner is an essential cosmetic used for any kind of eye makeup. Thus, she used the eyeliner in such a way that Deepika got those Chinese tweaked eyes without getting herself into pain.
‘Chandni Chowk To China’ is Deepika’s third film and is mega budget movie opposite none other than Akshay Kumar . CC2C is being promoted extensively on FM channels.
Deepika publicly confessed that she is playing double role in the movie. One is an Indian, and the other is a Chinese girl. The Chinese character is a specialist in martial arts, for which she had to undergo four months of rigorous training before the film started.
‘Chandni Chowk To China’ will hit the marquee on January 16.
