Mumbai City is still under shock as the current attacks have flooded our hearts with tears, anger and sadness. Even the Box Office has been affected as people don’t find public places like malls and multiplexes safe anymore.
The directors of this week’s releases: Dil Kabaddi, Meerabai Not Out and Maharathi are concerned about the security of the people but also feel that entertainment is a balm that will help soothe the pain.
Director Chandrakant Kulkarni of Meerabai Not Out is worried not about his movie but about Mumbai’s security.
"I’m very concerned about the security of Mumbai and I salute the spirit of Mumbai as even after such a tragic attack we have started doing our routine work, like, the share market is open today. Life does not stop and entertainment is the medium through which we can free ourselves from the distress that we are going through. I’m sure Meera Bai Not Out will make Mumbaikars laugh. We can also say ’Mumbaikars Not Out’ to salute spirit of the city."
Dil Kabaddi’s director Anil Senior is worried about his movie but security of Mumbaikars comes first. "I’m worried as my film is releasing this Friday but at the same time I salute the spirit of Mumbaikars. Moreover I’m concerned about the public security during this weekend as they will come to watch the movie so my film is secondary but every Mumbaikar’s security comes first. I hope that everything becomes alright."
Maharathi’s director Shivam Nair is happy that his film is finally releasing but is saddened by the tragic attacks. "Finally my film is releasing after a gap of one year as it was supposed to release in March but the producers felt it would be better to release it at the end of the year. Unfortunately the terror attack has taken place which has changed or ended so many innocent lives. At the same time, to a minor extent, it has affected the box-office collections of movies. We can’t postpone the release of our film any further as the next two weeks have two big releases. More than the release of the film, we are concerned about everyone’s security."
