Masti and Page 3 girl Tara Sharma will be seen sharing screen space with Naseruddin Shah and Om Puri in the soon to be released Maharathi. The film is said to be inspired by a Gujrati play.
The actress tells us about her role in the film and more
"Finally Maharathi is releasing. I have waited for almost one year for it to release and now it’s finally happening. My character is quite bindaas as she is student who in the end will shock the audiences through her act."
“The film is a thriller which I’m sure people will love and that thriller element is given by me. I loved the script because of its uniqueness and there are so many great living legends like Pareshji who has directed the story in the form of a play then Om Puri and Nasseruddin Shah so to be a part of this film….I feel very happy and content that after giving some comedy in Khosla ka Ghosla there will be serious acting be me though there are some light moments in the film,” says Tara.
Why was there such a long delay in the release of the film?
"It’s only one year as Ashtavinayak who are the producers of the film had other important releases like Kidnap and Golmaal Returns and so it might be their plan of action but I’m very happy that film is releasing now,” she says.
Tara has also been signed for Rensil D’Silva’s next with Dharma Productions.
"Yes I have signed for Rensil D’silva’s film which has Kareena and Saif in it. So I am quite excited as finally I have got a big banner film. I’m cast opposite Vivek Oberoi. I’m playing the role of journalist in the film. This film is a political drama. The shooting of the film will start in December. My role is small but it’s quite important,” is all she is ready to say right now.
“After this I have Ashok Amritraj’s film with Jesse Metcaffe and Shriya Saran. The film has been released in US and it has got a good response and by the beginning of 2009 it will released in India as well. Next week we are going shoot for Dulha Mil Gaya as well. I’m quite excited to be work with SRK again as when I was in school I have worked with in an Pepsi ad."
Maharathi film is releasing on December 5th.
