There have been rumours that Rani Mukherjee had a spat with co-star Shahid Kapur on the sets of an upcoming Yashraj film.
However, the production house has denied such rumours as baseless. There were also reports that Rani is not happy with the way director Anurag Singh is directing the movie. Rumours said Rani herself is ghost-directing the film and has asked producer Aditya Chopra to replace Anurag.
But on Wednesday, a statement from Yashraj Films denied such reports.
"Anurag Singh’s directorial debut starring Shahid Kapur and Rani Mukherjee in the lead, which is under production since July 2008, has been plagued with incorrect news reports from the outset," the production company said in a statement.
According to a source close to Yashraj, even the story of a rift between Shahid and Rani is not true.
"There are too many reports circulating against the actors. The allegations against Rani and Shahid are rubbish and baseless. Both of them are very professional actors," the source is quoted as saying.
The statement from Yashraj also denied that the film has been titled ‘Addipa’.
"Yashraj films would like to clarify that the name of the film has not yet been finalized.
The movie, revolving around the game of cricket, has Rani playing a girl who disguises as a Sikh boy to be part of a cricket team. The film is slated for release in 2009.
