Aamir Khan truly believes in keeping the best for the last. He ended last year (2007) with probably the best movie of the year “Taare Zameen Par” and this year too he has the much awaited Ghajini all set to release in the last week of December (25 Dec). Right from the time the movie was first announced it has been in the news for one reason or the other. First it was Aamir Khan’s hairstyle which became the talk of the town and then his beefed up look which made everyone sit up and take notice of this movie.
As the movie release, we bring you a behind the scenes glimpse of what went behind the making of the hairstyle which has now become a fashion statement of sorts. Aamir has been known to experiment with his hairstyle to get in to the skin of the character. Be it his cool dude look in Dil Chahta Hai, his lover boy look in Fanaa or his rebellious look in Mangal Pandey - The Rising, Aamir has given it all for his characters.
Noted hair stylist Avan Contractor has been styling Aamir’s hair since Dil Chahta Hai and she is the one responsible for Aamir’s new cropped look in Ghajini. In this picture, Aamir looks on pensively as Avan gets ready to go snippety snip on Aamir’s locks. Alos seen in the picture are ace photographer Avinash Gowarikar and well known cinematographer Ravi K Chandran.
Avan is seen carefully observing Aamir’s head as she knows that when it comes to Aamir, everything has to be Perfection Personified. As for Aamir, he seems pretty relaxed and is patiently waiting for the hair cutting session to begin.
As Avan runs the razor through Aamir’s hair, the actor looks at the mirror and seems to be wondering “Hair today….Gone Tomorrow”. Not just Aamir, even the lucky few present in the room can not wait to see Aamir’s brand new look.
Voila…He’s done it… Aamir has finally cropped his hair for his character in Ghajini. The look has been modeled on the lines of the look which actor Surya sported in the Tamil version. Avan has not given him just a plain cropped look but has even given him linings on his plate which is the demand of the character. Aamir’s character in the movie get beaten bu the goons and hence the scars on his head.
The hour and half long hair cutting session is done, but Aamir is making sure that the scars on his head seem alright. Known for his penchant for detail, Aamir wants to get it completely right this time and hence seems to be making a point to hairstylist Avan who is listening to the superstar attentively. now you know why they call him “The Perfectionist Khan”.
