Sushmita Sen loves being a hands on mother. Whether taking holidays or painting together, Sen makes no secret about her close relationship with her daughter Rene. And most recently like all average mothers she also walked the ramp at her daughter, Beacon High’s, annual celebrations held over the weekend.
“The school holds their annual prize distribution around this time every year. For the past couple of years we have included a fashion show in the line up. Many celeb children study in the school and like all other parents they too participate. Sushmita walked last year and this year too as Rene studies at Beacon,” says a parent from the school.
But with Sushmita being a star do the other parents feel overshadowed?
“No not at all because she is very nice. Sure she is the show stopper every year but none of us really mind it because it brings in the crowds. She knows how interact with the crowds and get them going. Plus she isn’t the only celebrity that is a part of the evening. Like till last year Prahlad Kakkar walked the ramp because one of his sons was studying in the school. Then this weekend we had other actors like Suniel Shetty and Rohit Roy who were a part of the festivities. Sameera Reddy came too. So all in all we had a great time and the school generated money which was the main motive,” says the parent.
Sources from the school say that Sushmita is very much a part of daughter Rene’s schooling. “She attends all meetings and knows exactly what is happening in her daughter’s life. Rene and she share a very good relationship and no one would believe that she has adopted Rene…. In fact I often think that Ms. Sen is more involved in her daughter’s life than other average parents,” says a teacher from the school.
