At the premiere of Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam, Mallika Sherawat seemed to be unusually silent. The otherwise bindaas babe, known for her controversial statements, was very unlike her true self. Perhaps sharing the limelight with a bigger star didn’t go down well with her. While, every shutterbug usually focuses at Mallika-E-Azam at every occasion, this one here had a different object of attention. Khiladi Akshay Kumar was present at the premiere and the cameras seemed to be focused only on him. When asked if he cut short his foreign vacation to have a look at Mallika, he retorted, “I am looking forward for the whole film.”
Speaking about Mallika, the lass seemed intent on staying mum. Now, considering her last few films, she may as well do some talk, if only to rake hype around her latest offering. Also, how could she not react to Ram Gopal Verma’s direct mockery of her acting? Ramu’s Phoonk too premiered on the same day and apparently he said, “Mallika is the lead in Maan Gaye… and a crow plays the lead in Phoonk. Let the audience decide who is the bigger of the two stars.”
At the premiere, from the film’s star cast, Mallika was the main attraction. As for Rahul Bose, he looked intent on grabbing the serial-kisser tag from Emraan Hashmi, what with four kissing scenes in this film. While the film’s other central character, Paresh Rawal was present, Kay Kay Menon was conspicuous by his absence.
