What not many know about Akshay Kumar is that inside the Khiladi Kumar who looks so rough and tough on the exterior; lies a very caring and loving family man.After winning hearts with his excellent performance as an actor, Akshay decided to turn producer and when at it, he wanted his mother-in-law Dimple Kapadia to play Kirron Kher’s role in Singh Is Kinng .Hari Om Films is Akshay Kumar’s production house which co produced SIK along with his producer friend Vipul Shah. It is believed that Akshay is a 33% partner in the film.
According to an industry insider, being a co producer, Akshay took liberty to suggest Dimple to do an interesting role for sentimental reasons.It is believed that Dimple loved the subject but she, who has always been a stickler for good roles, be it Leela, Pyaar Mein Twist, Dil Chahta Hai or even her forthcoming Zoya Akhtar-starrer, she felt her role wasn’t substantial enough. And eventually the same role went to Kirron Kher.
When asked, Anees Bazmi didn’t deny that Dimple was the first choice to play the said role. He said, “Akshay is one dedicated and down to earth actor.He doesn’t interfere in casting. I would not like to talk about who was considered for the role but yes Kirron Kher has done an excellent job. I still remember I cried during shooting a specific scene. She is an amazing actor.”But its kuddos to the Khiladi who thought of his mother in law, the ever graceful Dimple Kapadia for his film. A perfect family man.
