The Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan and Manisha Koirala starrrer Mehbooba has been in the making since 1999. It will finally be releasing on July11, 2008.A source from the production house informs, “The film shooting was started in 1999 and the whole cast and crew was very excited but due to various reasons the film got delayed.”On Dutt, the source adds,
“Sanjay’s legal matters had come in between so he had to go to India to attend the court which left his portions stalled. So after this delay we started working on other films and the shooting got stuck. The film shooting was completed approximately in 2003 but then there were distribution issues as by that time the shooting of God Tussi Great Ho had begun.
”In this movie Varsha (Manisha Koirala) is an Indian girl. She is the first girl in Shravan’s (Sanjay Dutt) life who says no to his advances. Shravan (Sanjay Dutt) is not a guy who would take NO for an answer and starts showering Varsha (Manisha Koirala) with presents and gifts that she keeps refusing, which are then followed by costlier gifts. Unmoved by the money being showered on her, Varsha (Manisha Koirala) insults Shravan (Sanjay Dutt) in front of a few thousand people which come as a jolt to him. Ajay Devgan plays Karan, who is a dreamer and very romantic.
The film has been shot in three continents - America, Europe and Asia. Sanjay Dutt has done daredevil stunt in the deserts of Jaisalmer in which he has jumped from a moving car to a helicopter.
