Actor-director Aamir Khan’s nephew who is debuting as the lead character in ’Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ hopes to emulate his uncle’s prolific career and is aiming for a long innings in tinsel town.
Imran Khan, who is being launched by Aamir’s home production will be seen in the movie based on campus romance. The movie, he says, is the beginning of a long stint in acting and his long cherished childhood dream.
"As a child I used to be fascinated by the huge posters of film stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Khanna etc and used to dream about a time when my face would also be a part of such posters," Khan said at a function in New Delhi today.
Imran, the latest entrant in Bollywood is not new to Bollywood as he was first seen in a bit role as a child artist in ’Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak,’ which was also the debut film of Aamir Khan.
The junior Khan speaking at the launch of a ’Zee Cinema’ programme ’Shanivaar ki Raat Sitaroon ke Saath’ said he loves watching films on television. "I remember watching one of my favourite movies ’Amar Akbar Anthony’.
’Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’, produced by Aamir Khan and Mansoor Khan, will be released across the country on July four. Mansoor was incidentally the producer of ’Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’.
In a bid to promote the film, the producers have entered an agreement with Zee Cinema under which the TV channel would run a contest for college going students.
"Imran Khan would visit the college which tops the contest participation," said Akash Chawla, Zee Cinema’s Deputy Vice President (Marketing).
